So Much in the Works!

Yes, 2017 was our final Discovery Tour, but never fear – the Collective is going strong and will continue to support and provide arts programing throughout the Northeast Los Angeles area. Exciting things are in the works for 2018.

First, we’re kicking off the new year with our annual party. It’s a potluck at Gwen & Andy’s house. Saturday, January 27, 7 – 10 pm. Let’s clink our glasses, give congratulations and thanks all around, and toast to another great year of art, poetry, performance, and community!

Our first exhibit of the new year will be Family Friendly, celebrating a broader more inclusive definition of family. Opening February 10 at Aveune 50 Studio.

And in May, we’ll be at the Audubon. Artists will create art and installations throughout the grounds. Stay tuned for more info.

June 1 – 3 is the annual Lummis Day Festival. AAC will again be hosting a parade of puppets and you’re all invited to participate. In the weeks leading up to Lummis Day, puppet-making workshops will take place at the Audubon, local libraries, and other venues.

La Tierra de la Culebra Art Park has some amazing plans. They are partnering with other local non-profits groups to bring you puppets, chess events, art, drums, and more! It’s all in the planning stages, with super energy and great ideas, so stay tuned.

Teatro Arroyo is looking at ways to bring Alicia in Arroyoland back to the community and into the schools. Can’t wait!

And that’s only some of the community-building events, exhibits, parties, and plans being developed for 2018!
