Featured artists REBDUCE (aka Rebekah Sechrist) and Rebecca Nabarrete
The exhibition opens May 9, 2026 with 11 AM – 1 PM with a visible mending workshop led by the curator, and the show runs through June 13th.
REBDUCE is a queer disabled woman of color, an artist and activist whose art embodies divine feminine energy and activism for social change extends through her nonprofit ARTWATER. Rebecca Nabarrete is a Latina
Los Angeles based artist with a BA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in painting and video. Her art work is collage like imagery painted on found paper which is enlarged and informs the narrative. This is their first time working together.
Workshop by A. Laura Brody: Visible mending makes repair fun, meditative, and beautiful. We’ll use techniques inspired by classic Japanese Boro and Sashiko hand sewing and turn your worn-out clothing into wearable art. This is a great way to keep old clothes out of the landfill, save their memories, and sew in good company. Bring items you love that need mending!
All supplies are provided, free to the public.

Featured artists Mary Cheung and Leah Knecht

The exhibition opens March 28, 2026 with a workshop and interactive activity from 11am – 1pm.
Mary Cheung and Leah Knecht were chosen for their vivid interpretations of the world and its history, their use of multiple mediums, and their wild talents. Mary was born in
Hong Kong, raised in San Francisco, and is a bold performer, photographer, and creator. Leah comes from a Japanese American family and creates detailed painted and multimedia works that speak to both personal and cultural history. This is their first time
working together.
Workshop: Mary Cheung celebrates her new painting series Kitty Faces Her Fears – by asking you to interact with the theme of the series – create your own “leave your fears behind” artwork to take home with you on 4×4 coasters
All supplies are provided, free to the public.
Interactive Activity: Leah Knecht will supply a journal or fishbowl with paper available where people can write their immigrant stories, which she can incorporate into her art.

Featured artists Dellis Frank and Kacy Treadway.
Artists Dellis Frank and Kacy Treadway work in fiber and mixed media and care deeply about justice, reuse, and the state of the world. Dellis is every inch an educator, a loud and proud Black woman, a vibrant artist, and an outspoken advocate for social justice. Kacy is a quiet, White female, specialty costumer who has spent decades building other people’s dreams on screen, while also creating delightful, quirky pieces of her own. This is their first time working together.
Workshop: Dellis and Kacy have you create hand-stitched cats and dogs from recycled materials – all supplies are provided free to the public.
